Objectives

About / Objectives

Clear goals, measurable outcomes

Every activity in the programme ladders up to a defined objective — from robust carbon data to real income for forest communities.

01 — Assess forest carbon stocks

Establish a scientifically rigorous, province-wide inventory of above- and below-ground forest carbon across all major ecological zones.

02 — Build a credible MRV system

Develop measurement, reporting and verification aligned with international REDD+ standards so credits are transparent and defensible.

03 — Enable continuous monitoring

Deploy GIS and remote-sensing tools to detect deforestation and degradation early and track forest change over time.

04 — Market carbon credits

Package and promote verified emission reductions to compliance and voluntary buyers, opening a sustainable finance channel.

05 — Share benefits fairly

Design and operate benefit-sharing that directs carbon revenue to the communities safeguarding the forest.

06 — Strengthen forest management

Support sustainable forest management, restoration and conservation that make emission reductions permanent.

The bigger picture

Aligned with national and global climate goals

Our objectives directly support Pakistan’s Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement and the province’s commitment to sustainable forest management and climate change mitigation.
